Pastor

Todd Dunn

Pastor Todd (or PT) was born and raised in the Houston area, trained with an extensive background in ministry under his father, Dr. Charles Dunn. PT married the love of his life, Michelle, in 1990 after graduating from Arlington Baptist University, and was blessed with three incredible sons - Brady (23, a DBU graduate), Blair (20), and Brett (15). After serving as Student Pastors in Lancaster, TX, he and his wife felt called to serve at Central Baptist Church, where PT was Associate Pastor for eleven years. In 2007, Lakewood Baptist Church brought him on as their Senior Pastor, and it was under his leadership that the once rapidly declining church began to experience some new growth.

Over time, the Lord began to plant the vision in his heart to relocate the church where they could thrive and grow, and in December of 2017, God blessed their steps of faith and provided a new church home in Fort Worth. PT loves sharing God’s Word each week, and it has always been his desire to see people step out in faith and follow Christ by providing a safe and loving environment at 2nd Mile.

Student Pastor

Jaxon Nichols

Jaxon was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico but was raised in Keller, Texas. He got involved with the Lakewood Baptist Church Youth Ministry in 2009, and gave his life to Christ in July of 2012 during their annual summer camp.

Jaxon attended East Texas Baptist University where he played football, and surrendered his life to ministry in 2016 as a sophomore in college. He met his wife Lou Lou at the university and married her in March of 2018.

That May, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas to lead the youth group for 2nd Mile. They both have a passion for developing young minds and the kid's relationships with Jesus, as well as creating a family away from home in the process.

Jaxon and his wife welcomed their new son, Jasper, into the world on July 17th, 2019.

Children's Ministry Pastor

Donnie Walker

Donnie was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He developed his love for children at the age of 11, when he began working in children’s theater at Fort Worth’s Casa Manana. In 1987, at the age of 21, Donnie gave his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which changed the course of his life forever.

Two years later, he accepted the call on his life to the ministry. He received his Associates Degree from Henderson County Junior College in Athens, TX, then moved on to Dallas Baptist. While there, he had the opportunity to enter the Applied Studies degree program, which gave him the ability to study at an accelerated pace and enter Southwestern Theological Seminary sooner than expected. He is currently still working on his Master of Divinity degree. Donnie is serving at 2nd Mile after leading children at Ridgecrest, Alliance, and most recently at Davis Boulevard Baptist Church. With over 26 years of experience in Children’s Ministry, he brings a unique style of puppetry, worship, and teaching children on their level to make the Bible come alive. He has a passion for leading children to Jesus and seeing them make eternal decisions for Him.
